We've heard the security firms tell us for years that mobile is a massive security threat, but seen little in the way of attacks. But the increased use of mobile devices, the increased data stored therein, and the increasing use of BYOD into corporate environments means this threat could now have serious consequences. Factor in the growing mobile penetration, and the shift from a PC world to a mobile world, and the attractiveness of mobile OSes for hackers and black hats starts to be real. Has mobile been safe so far only because desktops are more attractive targets? If so, mobile is due for all of the spoils of success, and had better prepare.
