    The Telco As XaaS Storefront
The panel will focus on the emerging area of cloud service brokerage, and how service providers can onboard services from hundreds of XaaS providers to offer a richer service portfolio to their small and medium enterprise customers. According to some analysts this could represent a $1 Trillion opportunity in 2020, with as much as 45% of revenue being transacted through the global service provider community. In order to capture a portion of this revenue stream there is an urgent need to agree on common standards and best practises. This panel will explore the needs of service providers and how those needs may differ across the world, how the service providers can be enabled to take this aggregator role, and also identify areas where cooperation between service providers will increase the speed in capturing this revenue stream.

  • James Nolan, Executive Vice President of InterDigital Solutions, one of the world's leading wireless standards development participants and mobile research and development companies, will discuss what 5G means to the wireless economy. Until now, wireless networks have been based on a single paradigm: a single device, connecting to a single infrastructure, that has been optimized for speed and efficiency. The network of the future will be a stitching together of a variety of device types, accessing various network resources that will work together seamlessly. The impact will be profound:

  • How will the operator community regenerate their role in the ecosystem?
  • How will virtual core networks and virtual air interfaces redefine network operations?
  • What impact will this have on "subscriptions" and how services are delivered, based on what value drivers?
  • How will these changes impact how people socialize and do business, and how businesses deliver value to customers?
