The competitive pressures in both these industries has only intensified the urgency to use data-driven insights for better network optimization and performance, more accurate predictions of subscriber behavior and better customer segmentation models. Telcos and media companies are increasingly looking to data-driven decision making to help them deliver more personalized content and marketing campaigns, and respond more nimbly to opportunities and threats based on sentiment analysis and other factors.

Fireside Chat: 4 Stages of NFV: An innovation engine

It’s no secret that the current monolithic CSP network infrastructure model can’t be maintained – it’s too expensive to manage the ever-rising data loads, and is too cumbersome to quickly enable the new services CSPs need to implement in order to stay competitive. The solution, as designed by the CSPs themselves, is NFV. NFV isn’t a single solution at any point in time. NFV will evolve in stages – each stage will drive more innovation and faster delivery of applications and services. In this session, Dr. Prodip Sen will show us how these stages represent a sequence of network technology innovations, and give us an update on the progress of the industry.

Vendors as a Path to Market

Vendors are often a better path to market than working with operators. Though that may be counter-intuitive to a startup who wants to strike a carrier deal, it is often the case that (when the technology interacts with their existing hardware) the operators require the startup to work with their equipment vendor anyways. A vendor partnership also has the potential to take the startup to multiple carriers, leveraging the large established sales force of the vendor. In this session, telecom vendors will give young companies some inside information on getting deals with the vendors as a path to their end market.
