The SPIF supports the dozens of fixed and wirelesscarriers who have offices and/or regular attendance in the SiliconValley to pursue investment, technology, and partnershipopportunities. SPIF member carriers have telecom operations acrossthe globe, At each monthly meeting, we review 5 or 6 interestingyoung companies who are seeking funding, strategic investmentand/or have a product or service that would be useful to thecarriers in attendance.
Startups invited to present are filtered by SPIF members and theSPIF steering committee and flagged as young companies with theideas, relevance, and technology that most appeal to communicationservice providers from around the globe. All companies who presentto the SPIF are evaluated by SPIF members for The SPIFFY Awards, anannual ceremony held each February that recognizes the best telecomstartups from the year prior.
