In 2009, the SPiF and the Telecom Council reviewed over 100 young telecom companies. By simply being invited to present, these start-ups were already identified as the young companies that have the ideas, relevance, and traction that most appeal to communication service providers from around the globe. And at the SPIFFYs, our carrier members honor the effort, energy, and ideas of all telecom entrepreneurs and celebrate the best of the them.
At the 3rd annual SPIFFY Awards, the Telecom Council and SPiF will announce outstanding companies from the presenting alumni, and honor their innovation and execution. Over 20 global carriers judged every startup that presented to the Telecom Council in 2009, across 8 award categories. You will find the evening informative, entertaining, and a great opportunity to meet with an impressive crop of entrepreneurs, telcos, and major equipment vendors alike.

The Telecom Council reviewed over 400 startups last year and presented over 100 of them in over 40 different meetings. Many of these startups were recommended by our carrier members and the VC community both of which are needed to keep the innovation and entrepreneurs energizing the industry.
Social Networking:
After a short awards ceremony in the theatre, we'll move out for a hosted bar and some mixing with telcos, entrepreneurs, financiers, and some of the smartest minds in telecom. Social Networking – it’s the next big thing in business, and, turns out it’s better in person over drinks than it ever was on Facebook.
